Erika's Poetry Corner

Prior to running my design business, I was active as a Bay Area poet, songwriter, and musician. My poetry was previously published in the Denver Quarterly, Santa Clara Review, Transfer, the online magazine Switched-on Gutenberg, and in other journals. I received a Best Poetry 1992 award from the San Francisco Poetry Center and the New York Academy of Poets. My previous collaborations have included poetry for short film, new music concerts and painting.

Poetry Online

Here's a link to "Waterfall," a poem I had published online in September, 1996. It appears in vol.2 no.1 of Switched-on Gutenberg, the global poetry journal out of University of Washington, Seattle. Waterfall was also published previously in an edition of TRANSFER, the literary journal at San Francisco State University.

Notes: This poem was originally created for a mixed-media installation, written on a car door window, and called "Parguera and the Open Door".

only your glance against so much emptiness...is Pablo Neruda.
